Mani Secrets Experience
The Mani Flavours Experience is an opportunity to experience the wonderful sights and flavours as you set off to explore the rugged region known as the Mani. The beautiful Taygetos mountains with their special flora and fauna are the backdrop for the journey. Explore some of the unique mountain villages all with their own traditions, secrets and heroes.
Our journey begins by taking in the special flora and fauna in the foothills of the Taygetos mountains. Making stops on route to give you photo opportunities at some of the fantastic viewpoints – so have your camera ready!
A walk through the first village will bring the tales of the hero’s to life and let you experience the uniqueness of the village that still exists to this day.
Continuing our journey, we pass through some stunning scenery and other villages, bringing us to our next village location. Here we will visit a beautiful 17thC church rarely seen by most tourists and even many locals. We will explore the village and get the chance to experience the filoxenia (unique hospitality) and traditions that it has to offer. When we finish our exploration, we will have the opportunity to have a coffee and to taste the areas famous mountain tea.
We then make our way to a village taverna for a traditional Mani lunch and to hear a little about how the dishes are created.
The last visit of the day is to the first micro-brewery in the Mani. A guided tour of the process is included as well as tasting the brew.
